D.O.B 1940 April 22nd He was born in Kyoto.
1963 He graduated from Ritumeikan University.
He majored in the history of modern thought under Professor Naramoto Tatuya
1973 He became the 6th headmaster of Ogawa School.
He continued to write books about Japanese thought.
1979 He visited China for the first time.
He studied at Beijing University for a short term.
Since then he has been there more than 40times. He has researched various kinds of tealeaves, tea culture and history in almost every part of China. He goes there one to three times a year .


He has been presenting his reports about the Japanese and Chinese history of tea
culture in newspapers, magazines, TV and radio programs. He also regularly presents lectures at Universities, and so on.
1991 The University of Kyoto Art and Craft was founded. He began teaching in seminars of Japanese traditional arts focusing on theory of Japanese culture and Sencha.
He is now a professor at the university.

He changed KARAKU in 1973, and the current head master of a school assumed Master's name of Kouraku as a successor for the sixth generation.
