The second grandmaster ,whose tea name is Karaku, took over the position of Kashin Ogawa and rendered great services to the promotion of Sencha tea ceremony. He turned down an invitation to go to Tokyo from the new Meiji government and turned over his old residence, old KorakudoCto Tessai Tomioka. He constructed a new Korakudo at Okazaki in Kyoto. Kashin Ogawa, drawing on His knowledge of the"authentic" taste of tea, insisted that tea was neither for satisfying thirst, nor merely a drink, Rather, it was a distilled elixir with a taste bordering on ambrosia. Kashin devised his own sanitary and logical tea brewing rituals; Honkakudemae based on his former experience as a doctor Lord Yasutika Horikawa wrote in the preface of senchakibun that his brewing ritual was extremely certain to get an authentic taste. He passed through the Chinese style and added Imperial grace and beauty. He devised new rituals with this Kyoto style
